Friends, our long nightmare is over. We survived the desert of August and September and now can bathe in the light of the Beam once again. That’s right, it’s time for Sacramento Kings basketball!
The Kings kick off their preseason slate with a trek North, facing the Toronto Raptors in Vancouver.
The game tips off at 5:00 PM PT, and will be viewable on Kings.com for anyone within 75 miles of the Golden 1 Center. As of this moment there isn’t a (legal) way to watch outside of that radius, but in years past we’ve seen these games pop up on League Pass even when they weren’t previously advertised.
We’ll have a Game Thread up for the game, but we generally won’t have traditional same-day recaps for preseason games.
Kings Basketball is (sort of) officially back! Let’s gooooooooooo!

“As of this moment there isn’t a (legal) way to watch outside of that radius”. Not illegal to use a legal VPN/change the geolocation data on a browser. : )
Ecstatic!…and here is the reason:
Kings and Raptors, though just preseason.
This summer has dragged—
My rhyming has sagged—
But lighting the beam will be pleasin’!
It ain’t the start of the season without the Jman rhymes!
For those of you that have access to the local KCRA channel, there’s a documentary airing tonight after the 49ers-Cowboys game which documents the Kings being saved from relocation in Seattle (as documented by the KCRA crew):
Any ideas how I could watch this living in Phoenix? I was excited to watch Niners-Cowboys, preseason game 1, and this documentary today. With my novice computer/TV skills, I think I will only be able to watch the football game. Help?!
I asked this on Twitter too, one of the KCRA folks responded that you can apparently watch it on a couple apps:
I will try the app. Thanks!
The NBA app seems to be indicating it’s available on League Pass but I am in Buffalo at the moment so YMMV if you’re physically inside the Sacramento market.
